The chancellor’s summer statement was finally delivered Wednesday 8th July, 2020. This was a long awaited statement that many businesses were anxious about.
At the end of the summer the furloughing scheme draws to an end, and the final SEISS grant will delivered in August. Many businesses are worrying about how to retain staff through economic hardship.
The initiatives are designed to relieve some of those fears and provide a road-map going forward. He made announcements on various schemes, including a Furlough Bonus, Green Jobs and Apprenticeships.
